About Qihui Li.

Ms Qihui Li is an active member of the Music Teachers Association of California (‘MTAC’) and a certified teacher of musical fundamentals, including music theory, ear training, and sight singing, from China’s esteemed Central Conservatory of Music. The Conservatory’s examination system is highly prestigious in the country. Since she began teaching in 2013, she had the honor of sharing my knowledge with over 100 music students from various places - Beijing (China), London (UK), Southern California, and even as far as Virginia through online lessons.

Growing up in a family of educators and medical professionals, Ms. Qihui Li naturally developed an empathy and the ability to connect with people of all ages. At just 7 years old, after only a year of piano lessons, she showcased her organizational skills by teaching a friend to play simple tunes. She went a step further when she was a teenager by teaching her cousin and friend-individuals with no prior piano experience and little familiarity with sheet music – how to play the beautiful piece of “Mariage d’amour”.

In 2010, Qihui was admitted to the prestigious Musicology program at the Central Conservatory of Music. During the following years, she refined her piano skills under the guidance of Liu Xingchen, a renowned classical pianist and teacher in the piano department. Qihui later pursued postgraduate studies in Ethnomusicology and earned a Merit degree upon graduating in 2017. In 2019, she moved to the United States for the family reason. Her journey in teaching piano and music theory began in 2013 and has remained her steadfast passion, regardless of her location.

Qihui's deep appreciation for music is rooted in her educational background and varied cross-cultural experiences. She was fortunate to undergo comprehensive and professional training in various musical aspects from an early age. Her passion for learning also extends to various teaching methods. She finds genuine fulfillment in reading, contemplation, and exchanging ideas with fellow music educators.

She also possesses a genuine love for traveling. Her quest for musical enlightenment led her to explore more than 10 countries and over 50 cities celebrated for their classical music and artistic heritage across Asia, Europe, and America. Inspired by music masters, she ventured into music schools, museums, engaged in conversations with musicians, and absorbed the authentic essence of local music. These invaluable experiences have profoundly enriched her insights, gently guiding her teaching approach.

Qihui has a joyful family with her caring husband, Mico, and their adorable son, Laurence. Even though he's not yet two years old, Laurence already adores music and enjoys playing the piano.
