Welcome to my personal website! I'm thrilled you're here to explore the enchanting world of piano music. I'm Qihui Li (pronounced as "Chee-hway Lee"), an active member of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC). With almost a decade of experience in piano performance and music theory instruction, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Musicology from China's Central Conservatory of Music, recognized as the country's No.1 conservatory. I also pursued postgraduate studies in Ethnomusicology at SOAS, University of London.

 

Central to my teaching philosophy is creating a joyful and inspiring atmosphere, nurturing both enjoyment and confidence in my students. I also greatly respect my students' diverse musical interests, offering plenty of opportunities for them to explore pieces and genres they love. At the same time, I maintain high standards, giving students a strong foundation in music theory and finger/body techniques. I guide them in expressing intricate musical nuances and dynamics through their fingertips, adapting across different styles and genres of piano pieces.

 

Considering students' and parents' preferences, there's also the option for students to take part in prestigious music examinations, like the CM and ABRSM programs. I'm grateful to have guided students through these exams, maintaining a 100% pass rate for their respective levels.

 

In my lessons, students consistently show remarkable progress in piano performance. Equally significant is their growing interest and understanding of classical music.
